“This is not just another incident—it’s an act of war,” he told media outlets. “We’ve been facing this threat for over 30 years, and it’s time the Indian film industry draws a line. Working with Pakistani actors, despite the ongoing terror threats, is insensitive and unacceptable.”

He criticized filmmakers who justify such collaborations under the guise of “artistic freedom,” adding that “nation must come first.”

FWICE Threatens to Block Film’s Release in India

Echoing similar sentiments, BN Tiwari, President of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), made a bold statement, vowing to prevent the release of Abir Gulaal in Indian theaters.

“If the filmmakers choose to move forward, consequences will follow. We will not allow this film to screen in India,” he stated.

The digital sphere has exploded with anger, with many netizens questioning why Pakistani actors are still being welcomed into Indian cinema, especially during periods of heightened national grief.

A viral post from social media user @theskindoctor13 highlighted the paradox:

“Pak Army chief says coexistence with Hindus is impossible. Yet we’re still casting Pakistani actors? Where is our national dignity?”
